Mark has spent nine years in local government, first in Palerang Council and then QPRC, with a year as Deputy Mayor.
He was one of the most active and engaged councillors in Palerang and QPRC, being either Chair or a contributing member of more council and community committees than most other Councillors combined.
He spearheaded many initiatives while on Council, such as drought relief measures, climate change actions, infrastructure initiatives, was a strong supporter for Australia Day and community and multi-cultural events, and an advocate for local businesses by setting the regulatory conditions for them to thrive.
He has lived in the Queanbeyan and Bungendore areas for over 25 years, raising a young family with his wonderful wife. He has been a Artillery officer, Director in the Department of Defence (22 years), author and has recently started his own consultancy firm dealing with national security matters.
He is coming out of semi-retirement to return to Council to set things right again.
